ür die Disco Musik 77/78. Stichwort MUNICH SOUND: ..Moroder..Boney M..Baccara..Donna Summer.. Alles exotische SängerInnen, aber immer Made in Germany. Und überall steckt Kraftwerk drin.

Maybe they sinply like to wear kohl powder and lip gloss. Maybe they were wearing makeup for the same reasons why Clowns do it or KISS or David Bowie did it: To emphasize that they are not authentic persons on stage but playing characters. And to give their performance an artificial appearance and ironic edge.
