TomUk, that could simply be a reference or a subtle nod to some piece of literature (Iforgot the official word), it is not a rip off, that word is used way too freely and too often.
Poets do that all the time - where words are most vital - but it still results in an original feeling that, due to referencing the past, is giving structure and element... it is not fair to judge musicians or lyricists so fast.

Dear waterlily69, you must have a fertile imagination because I did not say that I thought they had ripped off the words! I simply put the two quotes side by side. You are guilty of the very thing you accuse me of being...quick to judge!
I happen to think the use of the line appropriate in the context of this song. The book is about benevolence, sympathy and forgiveness and how hard it is to maintain those qualities in modern life. If I am not mistaken this song is about that too. Read it!
