Living in the UK makes me realise how lucky we really are.. I will never complain about the state of the NHS again. This film totally is shocking, and made me wonder, if the States can deny its citizens of something simple like healthcare to save lives, then its government have no conscience, and really are capable of anyhing.

The NHS and all other state run health programs are a disaster. I come from Ireland the equivalent is the HSE, the health service executive. Socialised medecine produces vast waiting lists, incompetant doctors who cannot be fired, bureacrats with their snouts buried deep in the trough and
micro-managing of medecine by busy-body politicians.
The market is fairer because you get the standard of health care you pay for.
There is no such thing as a free lunch.

everything is being privatised. The war in iraq has been privatised, our NHS is being privatised, the post office no longer exists and soon they wana bring in qualifications and schools that are being funded by corporations. The NHS has its problems but at the end of the day it serves the people not the rich. My aunties had 4 courses of chemotherapy when she had cancer and it didnt cost her a penny. people in america have to sell their house and car just to be able to afford one course of chemo.

To all you Americans out there who still have doubts, Micheal's statments about the social security in Europe are true! Our systems are not a mess as some republicans state, health care is free here (for me in Belgium and for most of our neigbouring countries), for everyone! United States is one of the only countries in Occident that you need an insurance in order to get pills for HIV disease, the price for a montly treatment without insurance is $1200-1500. Usually the rest of the countries they give them for free without insurance, is hard to find them in pharmacies because is against the law in certain countries to sell them cause when they are free (no-resale). So, that's the reason why that in USA they take people health for business and not for curing people.

Do you pay for healthcare? I ran up a $40,000 bill while in the hospital and all they did were just tests. I was one of the fortunate ones to never have to pay that bill while not being insured. Oh they sent me the bills, but I never paid. And poof that bill is gone. How many people can say that in America? Curious what you had to pay.
