This silent was wanting for a soundtrack. I love Josephine Baker. She was so incredibly talented. There are many versions of the classic Juana la Cubana by Fito Olivares. This version by Los Telez is my favorite modern remix. The lyrics are about a black Cuban woman who "will make you sweat to just watch her dance." "It's pure fire when she's dancing. She's the queen everywhere she goes."

| Hey everyone in the US, there is now a Josephine Baker stamp! The Postal Service has just issued stamps commemorating African-Americans in early cinema. "The Vintage Black Cinema souvenir sheet includes 20 stamps in four rows with five different stamps featuring posters advertising movies produced for African-American audiences prior to 1950." Ms. Baker's stamp is a poster for her 1935 movie "Princess Tam Tam." It's excellent! |

She was very fluid, very limber, in regards to her form and style, she was very much ahead of her time, and if she were alive today (and in her 20s), I've no doubt she could give a lot of professional dancers a good run for their money. |
