Hi Dan, his magnet ... ( 8 months ago by AdminOnDuty)
Hi Dan, his magnet arrangement is the same as in my videos. However they are smaller, closer together and much more powerful. Additionally, he is using a spherical magnet as well. I will try and post some math on what is needed to acheive escape velocity within the next couple of weeks.

Hi Charles,
Your video is above par. Every demonstration is excellent. I am especially fond of the 'work' calculations. I hope you received my private correspondance regarding the escape velocity. As I told Dan, I hope to put it to mathematical feasibility inside a couple weeks.
Cheers, Harvey

Explaining how a magnet works is a bit tricky, but if you are fimiliar with the concept - my best guess is that it's a series of increasingly stronger magnets. The stronger magnet always takes away the ball from the weaker magnet until the strongest one catches it.

I have ordered some magnets and will try a few arrangements to see which ones work. Will let you know results if you like. Dan

I may be mistaken as to his sphere. His video shows that it is neodymium. You can get blanks as well as magnetized versions of NIB. Perhaps he can clarify it for us.

If you look at my video "Permanent Magnets Doing Work" you will see the magnet configuration in a more pronounced way. These NIBS provide a very strong initial acceleration and the array allows that to propagate a farther distance. There are added NIBS at the end as well. In this configuration all the NIBS can be of the same strength.

excellent video. question, instead of a straight track, why dont you use a round track, kinda like a horse race track? They tricky part will be to get the sphere to transition from the end of the track to the beginning of the track, but if anyone can figure this out, it will be you my friend. in the mean time, i will try myself, perhaps i will be posting my very first youtube video soon...lol

Hey Admin, I got the magnets and have been playing. I built a similar device to magnetic launcher from some 5mm square NIB magnets and some cable trunking, the magnets are all north down one side and south the other. It works. Check my video "magnetic gravity engine test 3".

Could you make it ... ( 6 months ago by drdirs)
Could you make it actually launch the ball though? Doesn't seem there's any way to escape the stronger magnets at the end, so how is it different from attaching the ball to a spring or whatever?
you're missing the ... ( 6 months ago by Sm0ky2)
you're missing the point here, you attach the ball to a car, that has a release mechanism that actually launches the projectile.
The point is it enters at a low velocity and moves a short distance, VERY quickly, with no extra energy.
The real question ... ( 5 months ago by aegisforex)
The real question is: does removing the ball from the launcher and putting it back to relaunch expel more energy than is being produced when it is launched? And how do we go about measuring this?

Why not make a circle and put a channel around the inside of the magnetic circle will the ball continue to rotate in a circle.Or use 2 balls on the ends of a rotating center pivot the length can be adjustable to regulate speed. Then use this energy to power to power your launcher like a trebuchet and multiply the input energy? (IE:Mechanical accumulator)

Assuming the ... ( 1 day ago by bitRAKE)
Assuming the typical positive energy cost; how might this be used to reduce the cost of transport? Energy is localized at the end points and the cost path construction can be offset by the number of trips made. Accurate measurements of energy use will determine the scale of useful development.
