That is for you to decide. But I can say that many professional photographers use Nikon for a reason. The lenses are good and all the company has ever done is build quality cameras. Canon has made more general electronics and now produces good dslrs. I find nikon works fine for me.

yes, it came with a front lens hood. And also a semi-transparant softer plastic one for the rear end. But you don't use that one much couse the lens is on the camera all the time ofcoarse.

You are talking about the lens cap. The hood is like a shade, not a cover.

Sorry my mistake. No there are no hoods with the 18-55mm kitlenses. I think it would be hard to attach also if you could buy a seperate one. (Don't know for sure if its build to fit one on.)

No, it's a silent process. It just vibrates the sensor very lightly. I think there won't be any mechanical parts moving. I haven't tried a "dust reference photo" where you should take a photo of a clear white surface. So the camera can tell if there is any small bits on some regions of the sensor... The only think that makes sound on the camera is the autofocus motor and the shutter morror going up and down. (and the naviation button has a thick click to it ;) )

Hey, can anyone of you help me? when i bought my nikon d60 i realised there were some scratches when i looked through the viewfinder, and it appears that the scractches are from the focusing lens inside the cameras body right above the mirror. does normal warranty cover it? or must i just get a new focusing lens? i just got my nikon d60 today :(

Thanks! Well I trie to; Writing notes in English, watching movies without subs, reading books in EN. Just because knowing English is practical: with software and on the internet, international studies, holidays, buisness etc. I'd even like to live in the UK or USA for like a year working or studying. Getting to know language and culture. So that's why. By the way, most Dutch people know English pretty well by default. But not all sound like they're not Dutch :P. Hard to lose an accent.
