I'm not sure if it is, but I know Steve Hackett of Genesis used Tapping and Sweep Picking in 1972, on Dancing With The Moonlit Knight from the Selling England By The Pound album. Far before EVH was renowned for tapping, and far before Malmsteen was renowned for Sweeping. :)

this album came out 2 years before the fist Black Sabbath Album...i mean their are simlarities in some aspects but not that much ....honestly in pure complexity KC far outshines Sabbath ..that being said Sabbath with its simpler stuff was farrrrr more succesful and had more of a lyrical presence
