I'm a Ray Sefo fan, so it was hard watching this fight. He was obviously not at the top of his game, but full credit to Badr for getting the result he wanted. About Badr's cockiness? I don't know the guy well but he backs his mouth with his fists and remember at 23, he's still a very young guy. I think he will mature as he gets older. Well I hope so he does. It would be a tragedy if his character doesn't grow to be as big as his talent and courage:-)

As a Kiwi I'm thankful to Sefo as well as others like Mark Hunt for putting NZ on the kickboxing map. One thing you guys have got to realise is that NZ is mad about rugby like Australia is about aussie rules & cricket. For every Ray Sefo that takes up kickboxing another 4 take up rugby union or league. Kickboxing is popular but it is a distant 2nd to rugby. When I was going to school, rugby took all the best male athletes. If you weren't good enough or tough enough then you played another sport.

NZ has punched above its weight in kickboxing. We'll never be a Holland but we've got 1 K1 champ and one who always close to becoming one. Not bad for a country of 4 million where over 95% of elite gladiatoral athletes play rugby union or league.

I will say Holland probably has the best kickboxing environment in the world. Its philosophy is quite evident in its fighters. Traditionally, Thailand fighters emphasise attack with the feet & defence with the hands. Kiwi fighters & Aussie ones as well seem to favour a 'hands only' toe toe approach. The best Dutch fighters seem to have no weakness. They have brutal power & technique with hands & feet + intelligent counter-attack & ability to ruthlessly exploit any opponent weakness.

okay, but in Holland about the same persentage plays soccer, in my city, with about 30.000 inhabits there is one kickboxing gym, with about 40 members, and about 15 arent even from this city its self, so I think thats not much either...

Yes...Thailand is right up there but I reckon Holland has moved past it to Nos 1 in the world. I have a friend who fought in Thailand He's 186 cm & 92 kg. He got ko'd by a much smaller Thai guy. Yes those Thai's are definitely tough especially with kicks, knees & elbows but I think the Dutch fighters have all that + lethal boxing skills. I mean look at Hoost, Schilt, Aerts,Bonjaski, Hari etc.. No holes at all in their technique and I've spent hours looking at their fight videos.
