Fantastic.
Was this filmed shortly after Ian Curtis's death? Simon looks absolutely devastated here - almost as if he's playing "Taps" for a fallen comrade. (and before anyone says it - yes, I know Ian was never in ACR) :-)

Wow! ACR sure was way ahead of their time with this kind of music. Glad I still got the vinyl. Will go listen to it now, for the sound is awful here. Still, cool video.

Btw I went to a show with them in "Saltlageret" in Copenhagen. It was shortly after they released the fantastic album "Sextet". But they didn't bring the girl singer, Martha Tilson. Wasn't there a story about this (for them unknown) girl spontaneously entered the stage at one of their earlier shows and started the singing? Or was that something I've dreamt?

Could well be, NW80014. I helped organizing a gig once for a youth center in Holland and OMD came around. They were devestated too that time, after the death of Curtis. They hardly could talk about anything else. Hardly affiliated with Joy Division in music style. Big event by then indeed.

Christ, Radiohead must have spent some time listening to ACR. Good idea. A very under-appreciated band in the States.

Yes indeed ... ( 3 weeks ago by MCBenjyness)
Yes indeed Radiohead as many others these days owe alot to the Factory days...I think ACR were way ahead of their time. No small wonder that Mike Pickering and Simon Topping ended up developing the Hacienda club , bringing real house music from Chicago, NY. Simon himself went to NY for a while to study Latin American purcussion. The album that this tune comes from is awesome..its the pinacle of thier 'sound'.
