Video Description:
The aftermath of a freight train derailment at Caliente. A freightcar derailed and damaged a switch. After it was repaired the trains were backed up for miles in each direction, so there was a constant parade of freights until sunset and through the night.

What was the cause of the derailment?
At 3:08, was that horn valve slow to close or just the engineer's way of blowing the horn?

An MDW flatcar derailed. They had to replace a section of rail on the switch. Whether the car broke the rail, or the broken rail was the cause of the derailment, I don't know. Sounds like he had a problem with the horn valve!
