If it was today, they would be commenting only on how many American planes were shot down, interviews with grieving families, interviews with Japanese civilians who died in the carpet bombings, etc. Watching these videos, you realize how our media today is so "different."

You mean how the media today has brainwashed countless millions of Americans into hating the Bush Administration and has turned them against the cause of fighting international terrorism?
Yeah, the media is ... ( 1 year ago by NordicRullerStein)
Yeah, the media is different today. It's evil for the most part really. All the networks really care about is making money. They don't give a damn about how relevant or useful to the nation the stories they show are, they just want to make money, so they show stories that are interesting and that stir up controversy. It's sad really, and it needs to be countered somehow.

the best and most underrated and underrecognized fighting General of WWII was Joseph "Vinegar Joe" Stillwell. If he'd had Patton's command the war in Europe would've been shorter by 6 months

This was the golden era of media: when they were truly objective. Now they're doing (along with Democrats -- shocking they're the party of FDR) the Terrorists' work for them. FDR, Patton, Ike, and all the other great Americans from that era are turning in their graves.

It's really a shame how the media is misrepresenting what is going on. If they had reported WWII like they are doing Iraq, we never could have one. This is from an army brat whose dad served in WWII. The media is aiding and encouraging the terrorists.
The difference ... ( 1 year ago by GeorgeVreelandHill)
The difference between WWII and the war on terror is that our leaders today don't have the guts of those who fought the Germans and Japs. The war on terror would have been won long ago because Patton would have rolled through those terrorists. The military today is a sham outfit, and its leaders are a joke. Bush has no clue about war, and everything seems to be one lie after another. No wonder why so many people are fed up with it all. GEORGE VREELAND HILL
You are absolutely ... ( 1 year ago by PennPearson)
You are absolutely right. They lack the guts to do the unpleasant things that are necessary to win this particular "Savage War of Peace". Our current "leadership" couldn't have won WWII or any other war because they won't do the harsh things that are necessary to win.
Vietnam was the ... ( 1 year ago by baumusc)
Vietnam was the same way, politics and media undermined the military. Constant talk of failure got to the American people and politics in DC handcuffed our military to the point that it couldn't win.
The United States ... ( 1 year ago by JuliusC1973)
The United States and the Soviet Union were allies fighting Nazi Germany and American-Russian relations were good at that point in time. What's more interesting is that Japanese Officers were there reviewing the parade. Imperial Japan and the Soviet Union still had diplomatic relations at the time that Japan was at War with China, Great Britain, the United States and many other nations. The Soviet Union would declare war on Japan several months later. Thanks for posting this footage.
The media was ... ( 1 year ago by JuliusC1973)
The media was censored by all sides during World War II. Plus the media had sense enough to realize that they were part of the war effort. Considering the atrocities committed by the Axis, ask China about the rape of Nangking, ask Russia about the Einzatzgruppen (the Extermination Squads) don't expect a lot of sympathy for what happened to Germany and Japan during the war.
