Turkeys are really friendly and intelligent like a dog or cat. I can't understand how anyone could eat a turkey.

Ask Homer Simpson what he would say about a nice golden bird on the table.. Mmmmm triptophan.

Thank you Farm Sanctuary for showing the truth about how these living, domesticated, intelligent creatures are doomed to "life" in miserable, intensive confinement, wretched, unhealthy conditions, and considered merely as "production units" by greedy owners
workers.

Yes, but isn't Homer Simpson the pinnacle Icon of most American men? Wouldn't he (even though exagerated,) be the perfect reference?

I have been fortunate to share my life with a turkey. They aren't dumb as people speculate. Each one has a distinct personality and enjoy being cuddled as much as a dog or cat. Please help spare a turkey's life. Rescue a commercial turkey or donate to rescue groups. Go vegan and save animals everywhere!

I raise turkeys and chickens. Mine live outside in the grass and sunshine. Just today, while I was harvesting lettuce in my garden, all my turkeys came over and sat next to me while I was picking lettuce. Yes, they are tasty, and our turkeys are made into food for us and our neighbors. But we don't like killing them, and we do it with care. I won't buy store meat anymore. I raise all my own and know my animals get to live a good life in the sunshine, free to roam our pasture.

You can't set those birds free. They are genetically modified to grow large and fast. IF left past their "processing date" they WILL become crippled. Not being able to move, they can not get to food and water and they will starve. It's not a pleasant death. You can't set those birds free, but you can raise your own and treat them with care.

How absolutely barbaric! What horrible conditions these animals live and die through. Everything in the poultry/animal agriculture industry is so cruel. Wonderful to know we don't need "meat" to live a very healthy life... Going vegan is better for health, better for the planet and certainly better for the animals - GO VEGAN
If you don't like ... ( 6 days ago by TheUnsilenced)
If you don't like killing them, why do it? People can thrive just fine without eating animal products. You yourself mentioned that they enjoy sitting next you, which shows that they are individuals with feelings who trust you. To kill sentient beings just because they "taste good," or to preserve tradition isn't a good enough reason.
Yes, they can be ... ( 18 hours ago by vegantofucat)
Yes, they can be set free to live out their days in peace...to not end up being killed "with care"(?) I have visited many many living past their "processing date". They sure seemed happy to be alive. How do you feel raising an animal so absurdly modified that it would get so large and crippled that it could not get to food and water? Imagine all the people out there growing large and fast; yet they continue to live past their processing date.
