"Fast as fuck" if you aren't trying to hit anything. A good marksman takes one shot at a time. Semi-auto isn't designed for spraying. You can pull the trigger really fast, but all you're going to do is convert a lot of ammo-money into noise. Anyway, 7.62X39 is a ridiculously weak cartridge. It's designed to wound a 170 pound man at
300 yards. Hunting cartrdiges are designed to kill a 300 pound deer at greater range. There's really very little "assault" about semi-automatic "assault weapons".

Semi-auto= one shot per trigger pull. Bang. Bang. Bang. Full-auto= will continue to fire as long as the trigger is held down. Bangbangbangbang. More or less, full-auto= machine gun. (Technically there's a distinction, but that's basically what it comes down to). Semi-auto is one shot per trigger pull only. "Assault weapons"= one shot per trigger pull only. People want to ban them because they look scary (really, thats all it comes down to). Assault rifles= full auto, basically already illegal

portsy101, you seem pretty stupid, Assault weapons are assualt rifles. Semi-automatic weapons arent assault weapons. And A good hunter can easily use A 7.62x39 round to take down a deer. Ive seen a 6 pionter taken down with an sks so it is possible. And Full auto firearms are legal just with the right permits and records

Ron Paul has zero chance. We all know it. But if you piss away your vote, it just increases Obama's margin. Obama's people just LOVE RP -- it splits the vote. Barack Obama scares the hell out of me because he wants to: "Increase taxes on firearms and ammunition by 500%" Back in 1999, then state senator Obama proposed increasing taxes on handguns and handgun ammunition by 500%. Right now, a rifle that a manufacturer sells for $500 carries a tax of $35. Under Obama's proposal, that amount would rocket to "$330. Remember, it is the second amendment - the one right after free speech. Don't let this man try to squander our hard-earned rights.

Being military or even police doesnt change a thing unfortunately. I had made plans a little over a year ago to purchase a Fully Automatic M1A1 Thompson, and began the process which was, 3 sets of finger prints, a mile and a half of paperwork in triplicate, 1 set of each to your local police, state police, and the feds, paid the cost of the weapon up front, had to wait between 60- 90 days and then would have had to pay the difference if the value of the weapon increased within that time

Yeah prohibited unless you pay the $200 transfer fee since it is pre-86. After pre-86requires a special $3,000 a year license thru ATF.

Daewooparts; anyone can go hunting pheasant if they have permission of the land owner. I'm British, I'm a uni student, I own a shotgun licence (shotguns, obviously) and a Firearms Licence (high powered Air Rifles and Rifles); I also go hunting Dear, Rabbit, Pigeon, Pheasant, Fox (Not in the "lets get allot of dogs" type) and others. You ARE allowed to defend your own home, but you have to be smart about it. VAT is 17.5% flat. I have not heard about the Muslim food thing so I know that's false.

The only difference between an Semi-auto AK and a full-auto is a trigger mechanism. BTW: If you're willing to pay put the ass for a class 3 stamp and license, full autos are legal.
