My God, what an emotionally stirring of the soul, song and video. I have always loved Ship Ahoy, and understood the meaning of the lyrics. We cannot really begin to understand what our ancestors really went through, but this song really brings to life, what is must have been like. The images were astounding, and the freedom fighters at the end, was a great finale. Thanks to The O'Jays for putting together a great masterpiece.

Guess what youngblood, history and common sense teaches us that not all slaves were "stolen." Most were sold by tribe leaders or other African leaders. So, who do you really blame: the white slave owner, the white slave trader, or the African slave seller? Get a lil more educated on that. Besides, you had Black slave owners too for a considerable time.

Being self professed Christian is VERY different than being a TRUE beleiver and follower of Christ. Satan himself believes in the deity of Jesus. He even undrstnds the whole death, burial, and ressurection. BUT he does NOT follow Christ and he definatley does not NOT profess Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I'm Ivorian and i dont use spell check. By the way Seek, if you know anything about history, my tribesmen were among the first to be bought. I am a direct decendant of the slave trade. I have authority and absolute knoweldge over what I speak about concerning the middle passage (compared to what you think you will ever know). My families were taken to Spain and Portugual as well as several other countries in the trade. You have no clue you washed up ignoramous.

I was a little bland and archaic I admit groove. but mostly all of those Christians were actually catholic christians and not "real" christians. So, i should have clarified myself. Baptists then became more organized under Calvin and Luther in the US and in such, most slave traders were christian. Groove, you are on point.

God. Bought this album for another track but once I heard this, was hooked. Am glad to say on my phone now too. Great to see it on youtube. This must be one of the most evocative and emotive tracks I ever heard. Still sends the same shivers to my bones when I hear it. An absolute classic, and wish I could have seen the vid that someone earlier requested, of them coming on stage with chains. And then hearing them sing it live.
