He meant that if someone labels you as something and you agree with that, you will have a very hard time escaping that label. An example is someone calling a band hardcore metal and the singer publicly agrees. When that band tries to move on to different things other then "hardcore metal", their fans will be pissed at them trying new things.

He means that if you personify those stereotypes that people associate you with long enough, that's all you're gonna be able to rise up to in a lot of people's eyes, and no farther. It becomes a prison because people's perceptions won't allow you to do anything more than the stereotypes you say you are. So in this case, nerds stay nerds and nothing more than that.

how can anyone hate it? you must be biased or 94 viscosity-pickled shit to not check it. and it is more hiphop than anything playing on the radio. maybe it is Nerdy, but not the chafing way. and it's hi-res and romp.
