ę [ Republic- Don't Ask About Poland ] Polski Dywizjon 302 i 303 Fighter ( Polish ) Squadrons 302 and 303 Polish pilots fought in the Battle of Britain, where the Polish 303 Fighter Squadron achieved the highest number of kills of any Allied squadron. From the very beginning of the war, the Roya
l Air Force (RAF) had welcomed foreign pilots to supplement the dwindling pool of British pilots. On 11 June 1940, the Polish Government in Exile signed an agreement with the British Government to form a Polish Army and Polish Air Force in the United Kingdom. The first two (of an eventual ten) Polis
h fighter squadrons went into action in August 1940. Four Polish squadrons eventually took part in the Battle of Britain (300 and 301 Bomber Squadrons; 302 and 303 Fighter Squadrons), with 89 Polish pilots. Together with more than 50 Poles fighting in British squadrons, a total of 145 Polish pilots
defended British skies. Polish pilots were among the most experienced in the battle, most of them having already fought in the 1939 September Campaign in Poland and the 1940 Battle of France. Additionally, prewar Poland had set a very high standard of pilot training. The 303 Squadron, named after th
e Polish-American hero, General Tadeusz Kościuszko, achieved the highest number of kills (126) of all fighter squadrons engaged in the Battle of Britain, even though it only joined the combat on August 30, 1940: these 5% of pilots were responsible for a phenomenal 12% of total victories in the Batt
le. The Polish Air Force also fought in 1943 in Tunisia (Polish Fighting Team, so called "Skalski's Circus") and in raids on Germany (1940-45). In the second half of 1941 and early 1942, Polish bomber squadrons were the sixth part of forces available to RAF Bomber Command (later they suffered heavy
losses, with little replenishment possibilities). Polish aircrew losses serving with Bomber Command 1940-45 were 929 killed. Ultimately 8 Polish fighter squadrons were formed within the RAF and had claimed 629 Axis aircraft destroyed by May 1945. By war's end, there were 14,000 Polish airmen in 15
RAF squadrons and in the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). No. 300 "Masovia" Polish Bomber Squadron (Ziemi Mazowieckiej) No. 301 "Pomerania" Polish Bomber Squadron (Ziemi Pomorskiej) No. 302 "City of Poznań" Polish Fighter Squadron (Poznański) No. 303 "Kościuszko" Polish Fighter Squadron (

Love the vid. It's amazing what that little group of fighter pilots managed to defeat, and I say all fighter pilots. It wasn't just the British that fought so bravely; other allied pilots fought just as hard for a country they didn't even live in which was incredably brave of them, too. RAF for the win!

Firstly, Poland surrended after more tham one month. Secondly in England were more than TEN Polish squadrons. What is important, Polish 303 fight squadron had the most kills in all Battle of Britain. So, if you haven't got any knowledge about this battle, you should keep quiet.
As Superpower of ... ( 6 days ago by Slater071)
As Superpower of the allies the Soviet Red Army had a greater military than all the allies combined...killing 7.7 million axis (over 75%) before a smaller allies america requested the Soviets help defeat Japan at 1945 summit before Italian Enrico Fermi A bombs.
The Legendary Sir Winston Churchill gets lauded as worlds greatest War Leader, WON this, but Stalins imperious Soviet machine carried most of the workload as Germans focused over 80% efforts on them knowing they take Russia..Game over.

Russian Russian Christ where did you study history, its quite correct the Russians fought bravely against the Germans but I don't think they had much choice, Stalin was as much a monster as Hitler and in some way worse, the psychopath treated his own people as badly if not worst than his enemies and as for the Polish, one of the first things Stalin did was murder all their military officers. I'm English and am well aware of the bravery of the Polish and hold them in the highest esteem.
Stalin was a ... ( 2 days ago by Aptitude)
Stalin was a psychopathic monster, how you can fool yourself into thinking he was anything other I cannot comprehend. He was quite happy to go along with anything Hitler wanted until Hitler turned on him and even then he could not believe it. Stalin was directly responsible for the deaths of at least 20 million Russians, more Russian deaths than Hitler's Germany perpetrated. Do you see history through rose tinted spectacles, I think you do.

Probably it's true. ... ( 1 day ago by kwadrat89)
Probably it's true. But you should know that before Allies decided to help Poland in september '39 They left us alone and despite fact, that they (England and France) were at war war with the Third Reich, they bombard Germany with propaganda leaflets... Just when Hitler started to endanger United Kingdom their war started seriously. So please don't try to convince me how glorious was Allies help. They only rescued themselves.
Say what you want ... ( 1 day ago by Slater071)
Say what you want about Stalin..and yes he was a control freak..but without the Superpower of the allies the Soviet Red Army then we aint having this conversation right now. Sir Winston Churchill is lauded as the Icon of WWII..plus his speechs are legendary.. but Stalin's troops took out over 7.7 million axis (75% +)
Yes Britain single handedly won the Battle of Britain..remember though that 80% of the Germans were stationed on Soviet lines...they knew take out Russia then its Game over.
That's a weird post ... ( 1 day ago by Aptitude)
That's a weird post, its so easy with the benefit of hindsight to be so critical of people who did all they could to avoid war, maybe misguidedly such as in the case of the much maligned Chamberlain who was in fact a decent honest man so traumatised by the first world war after the loss of a million British soldiers fighting for your Europe's freedom that he could not contemplate it being possible that someone would repeat such a catastrophe again. You should be more careful with your opinions.
You have a ... ( 1 day ago by Aptitude)
You have a simplistic, black and white, bias view of history which is not worthy of consideration, I would encourage you to join your local library and educate yourself.
