The Violin-playing Robot is capable of performing a variety of tasks with its hands and arms. Its delicacy of movement is best demonstrated by the fact it can play the violin. It can achieve vibrato on a violin similar to that created by humans, enabling it to play all the classic Christmas carols.
The 1.5-metre tall Violin-playing Robot, equipped with a total of 17 joints in each of its hands and arms, uses precise control and coordination to achieve human-like agility. It could also be used to assist with domestic duties or nursing and medical care.

hey , just a complex piece of plastic , programmed by humans ... like these dancing santas at christmas . nothin' really impressive ...... i made a quadruped walking think out of K-Nex when i was 10 ... toy... honda's robot asimo is more interesting , it could be useful for boring tasks ... music is an art , i can't understand what toyota engineers mean while making some "hey i can play the violin the best of human nature suck even a robot can do it better" ...fuck ! this piece of plastic sucks

wow creepy and pretty dry at the same time, robots are great for monotonous repetitive tasks, and calculating stuff, but when it comes to the arts, music, etc. they lack that extremely important human factor.

it's holding the violin wrong, bad posture, vibrato movement is wrong, wrong foot position, no proper feeling of the music. hardly violin playing.

well you try a shot at making a robot play the violin YOUR way. I play the violin too and of course the robot is bad posture blah blah blah. DUH! its a robot. Robots are still not as elegant as humans can. Not sure how it did the vibrato tho =P lol well just remember that robots are definitely not human.
