Saakkashvili said something so important and significant, and I think it's something complacent Americans have no conscious knowledge of. He said America must understand because "freedom is at stake." No truer words have been spoken, but thanks to the anti-American commie leftists in this country, our own country could experience the same fate as Georgia if we don't stay on top of the importance of our own geopolitical interests.

If you read any independent source including the OSCE the Russians are not letting observers in and will only give journalists escorted tours and will not let them investigate. That is indisputable.
And if you are quoting Ron Paul as an authority on foreign policy and the Caucasus then you must be getting desperate. The guy doesn't have a clue. If Russia is so right and good, it should have nothing to hide. Oh, except of course all the ethnic cleansing.

I have been and I have listened to a lot of Russian media. I don't think anyone is nostalgic for the cold war. The number one problem is the Russian government is not allowing any neutral investigation inside S. Ossetia. That way their own citizens can still believe stories of 'genocide'. In this information black-out all kinds of stories can circle.
Could you please tell me which non-Russian neutral organisations are in S. Ossetia and what are they seeing. I would be happy to know.

There were extensive negotiations over monitors and the Russians are simply blocking them out of hand, which in the context of this conflict and the claims Russia has made is outrageous.
On the flipside. That bombing in Afghanistan that killed a lot of civilians. We know about that because the UN were able to investigate the site. The US were rightly condemned for that but they could have stuck to their story that a few miltiants were killed then blocked access, Russian style.

The monitors don't have to be American or European, as long as they are not Russian and I just like all of you I don't know what their findings would be, but it needs to happen.
Its worth remembering that Russian soldiers and security services were allowed in Kosovo to monitor and keep the peace.

I disagree with lots of issues about domestic policy with Saakashvili, but every single word he said about Russians action I agree. Nothing makes his presidential power stronger, than russian agression. If russia attacks we all lay our problems on a side, and think of most important: Independance/Freedom.
