In the first two seasons of the "newer" Top Gear (2001-the present), The Stig wore a black suit. At the end of season/series 2, he drove an old Jaguar off the edge of the HMS Invincible (trying to hit 100 mph and stop before the edge of the aircraft carrier's runway) and was "killed". As the third series started, The Stig was "reincarnated" as the white-suited version he is now.
