Clement surprises 400-meter hurdle field

American Kerron Clement stormed to a surprise gold in the men's 400-meter hurdles at the world championships on Tuesday. The 21-year-old ran a superb last 200 meters, clocking the year's quickest time of 47.61 seconds, with Olympic champion Felix Sanchez taking silver for the Dominican Republic in 48.01. problem is that when he get to 9 and 10 hurdle he go from 13 stride to 15. if he alternate leg all he need is 14 stride for last two hurdles

He was offered the spot in the Finals but gave it up due to back spasms (he did run in the pre-lims).
Remember, he has the WR in the indoor 400m.

Keron been stutter steppin on the hurdles since he was in high school, his speed just makes up for it. His time will drop a lot if he gets it down packed.

probably the toughest sprinting event in all of track and field. he says he wants to run the 400m, and targets the 43 sec range, I'd like to see him do it.

There is good reason to be scared of this event. I can run the 400 in 54 sec and I ran the 400IH in just under one minute. 5 seconds to jump over 10 hurdles over the same distance is scary. It was the hardest race I've ever run. I know those times aren't very good so don't reply telling me how bad they are. I already know.

i think felix sanchez from dominican republic did really well considering that he like, broke his ankle or something after 2005 in Helsinki...I'm proud to say I'm Dominican too! =)
