Incidentally, I think it would be great if you would show some samples of your wife's art school day sketches and fashion designs of the 50's to mid 60's era say. From what you described working for a design house she seemed to be quite accomplished.

Wow, I never realised that young men found trilbys so unfashionable after the war! A hilarious and deeply interesting nugget of history.
I know that I for one would find an antique hat to be very cool indeed! I don't own a trilby myself but I do have an American fedora which is quite cool!

I think you do not have to feel guilty to have let your parents down, really. You may have made a major change that seemed to render all their before made investions and sacrifices useless, but in the long run ... Okay, to know that by then was literally impossible, and the feelings of guilt were there, undeniably, but ... Seeing what has become of you, what great person and ~ality you are, what you give to the community here and with The Zimmers ... They would be so proud of you!
