Thank you for telling the truth - Lukashenko came to power in 1994 with the promise to smash the corruption and he obviously succeeds therein. I also venerate him, though I reside in Bulgaria, I admire him because he stands for friendship with Russia, for Russian language as official and combats corruption. Here in Blgaria corruption is rampant, we need someone like him, like bat'ka(

It sounded like broken Polish, Western Belorussia was in Polish hands and they influenced it in order to make it like Polish for easier governance of the bereaved Eastern Slavic land! Russians liberated the language from pernicious Polish menace.

If I may intrude - I am Bulgarian, have learned Russian as foreign language and I understand 60% of Belorussian Wikipedia, when I translated one article in Bulgarian, the languages are indeed similar. But one cannot understand all without learning a bit grammar. But I like Russian more.

Well of course I am, would a sane person ask a question like that? However, the state of my mind is in better shape than Politics in Belarus, I truly wish that the People of Belarus could have a messy Democracy like the Ukraine or Georgia. I just don't know what they could do to deter Russia from invading? Perhaps eating their children is the answer, that might make the Russians too scared to attack! Belarus isnt a dictatorship, but it does have mild authoritarian characteristics. From the BBC reports of the last election while there seemed to be some elements of manipulation (which itself was a very vague statement) they also said that it wouldnt have been needed as the majority did appear to support the government enthusiastically. Though the level of support may not be as high as the government makes out.
