While I agree that Moving Pictures sang by far a better version of 'What about me' in 1982 Shannon Nolls sings good version of the song.BTW I have not heard either version of the song in nearly 20 years and I do not have a clue who Shannon Nolls is as I have been in Canada for the last 10 years. That being said, I really love the old version....it really brings me back to my early teens. It was one of the first songs I remember seeing on Countdown on Sunday nights. What a powerful song!!!!!

I agree. Pop music nowadays are very boring melodically with the same old bass, electric guitar and drums drowning the voice part. Why not using other nice instruments like sax, piano, trumpet....? I think the young musicians nowadays have too much distraction and have very little understanding about music. Some of their brains maybe heavily damaged by heavy drinking and drugs taking, hence the little creativity left.
I must say the 1982 ... ( 3 weeks ago by jackxxpp)
I must say the 1982 version is better than Shanon Nole's. Shanon Nole's voice is more masculine but his expression is not as good as the other version. Plus his voice is not as pure. I don't like his rugged top voice which seems to be too pretentious for the sake of giving a rock feel.
