um, I personally think this is one of the best songs ever. I also agree that there is no need for a music video and a song to correspond meanings. Although this video is slightly out there, at least it looks like they had fun making it.

This video does go with the song. To me it's about U.S. consumerism taken to the extreme of consuming other countries. The video is a play on the phrase "Have your cake and eat it, too." Notice the military clad party boy doesn't touch his own piece of cake, choosing instead to devour every one else's share all at once while they clap along in mindless repitition? Duh.

I never said that the video had nothing to do with the music (re-read my words) I just was replying to Jessica95ss saying "what a very stpid f**ckin' vid/ who gonna waste time looking at this?" and to someone else saying that it didn't matter if a music video doesn't match up to a song. so if you

I dont get why people are arguing over a music video. If they want to eat cake and clap for a song why not do it? I think it was a clever idea, as its got people talking about the connection between video and music and so they have defiantely acheived something.
and as for the big music/video debate. I hate music video's with "storylines" I think the most fun comes from the most random :)
