I always thought it was "hangin in a jury" when I was young lad, then on I KNOW BLACK PEOPLE they said "chow line" but the writers of the show have made it clear that it's "Hangin and jivin" or however u spell it. Always interesting to learn something new about a show that I grew up watching.

Those were the Cabrini Green projects. Most of the buildings were torn down in the early 2000s.

Yeah I read a few books back in the early nineties on the Chicago projects. Very poor maintenance and the tenants really had to fight for a lot to effect change. Rachel and Her Children was one book and There Are No Children Here was the other book. Drugs, violence, crime you name it. Pretty freaky for the projects. I wonder if the worse parts of Chicago have improved since then or is it the same old same old.
