i still keep thinking that he was looking for the doctor on the tops.
because when he (finally) met him by the end of doctor who season 3/ torchwood end season 1he found out how he became immortal and why the doctor left him behind so he found peace with his search for hima nd accepting for being immortal so at the beginning and during season 2 of TW he stopped with that "plothole"

I love this! I'm a huge torchwood fan, but this is too good to be true! Especially Gwen's character trait, Welsh!!! Though Captain Jack is far sexier than that!
