One of my Family (That I do not know but my mom met) While barrel racing something happened to the horse and it moved in a way that the saddle horn push in under his ribs and when it jumped back up to normal his ribs all broke their and he couldn't do barrel racing anymore :(

I am happy that your horse is OK. I've seen many falls like this where the rider is find and the horse isn't but the rider gets back on to finish the course

Yeah... I didnt finish the course on her. If I feel like something is wrong during a run I will stop, get off and walk my horse out. I dont want to risk hurting my horse. She is how I make my living.

Good for you. This year I was at a high school equestrian team meet and during one of the speed events some girls horse reared uo and took a misstep, everyone in the crowd was telling her not to run but she did anyway and the horse ended up running on three legs, thankfully the judge stoped and dq'd her.

had that happen to me during HS rodeo. all horses were slipping on the 3rd from the extra cow poop around it from the cutting competition earlier...have it on video, will post it when i can!

You can see whats going to happen from the moment you enter. Your weight is thrown back and you can see her desperately trying to compensate around the first turn but by the second one she could fight against your resistance and thus went down

AMEN! Polebender, you go girl! I have a granddaughter who's mom trains John Lyons style. She'll be doing this when she gets a tad older.
