Man, this guy and Petrucci both are losers. They play like robots. They just stand up there (and in Satriani's case, looking like a pedophile) and shred for eight minutes. What ever happened to patience? What ever happened to playing a melodic solo instead of mindless scale-surfing.
That's why those guys aren't any good. There's no substance to what they're doing. There's no emotion. They would suck at blues. If Jimi were still alive, he'd put these FAKES in their places.

My opinion is that both Satriani and Petrucci are technicaly better than Jimi Hendrix was, so he couldn't put them in "their places". but i agree that Jimi Hendrix had much more soul.

Hendrix "soul" as you put it was severely influenced by articial stimuli, commonly known as drug cocktails. He sucked as a person, sucked as a soldier and the only reason he died was because of the above mentioned drug problems. Could he play? Definitely. Did he do anything useful with his life? That still remains unanswered but I'm leaning toward no.

Hendrix was one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century; and you call him useless? Hendrix always spoke about humanity with love and hope. He inspired millions of people with his beautiful music and creativity. Basically, he did more to promote love in this world than you'll ever do as long as you remain a naive, judgmental, self-righteous, twerp.
