Even if it could only destroy a planet once every 24 hours the shock wave and gravitic disturbances from blowing up Yavin would have been more than enough to decimate the rebel base on the moon beyond.

Well there you go! Of Course the 2nd Death Star needed to be upgrade. I think they also had cup holders in every Tie fighter as well. Atleast I'm not the only nerd out there I feel a little better.
